Our story

Maclaren Auto is a family-run, locally owned independent Mercedes-Benz specialist based in Trurolands, Tongaat. The workshop has been registered since 2008 — around eighteen years of working on Mercedes-Benz cars for owners across the area. Trading-since year to confirm

The focus has stayed the same: dealer-level knowledge on the marque, closer to home, from a workshop you deal with directly. The finer details — the exact Mercedes ranges and eras covered, the diagnostic equipment, and the parts policy — are best confirmed with the workshop directly.

A MIWA member

Maclaren Auto is a member of the Motor Industry Workshop Association (MIWA), a constituent association of the Retail Motor Industry Organisation (RMI). MIWA membership is the workshop's main independent trust signal — an association standard for member workshops, rather than a manufacturer endorsement.

Membership status / number to confirm

MIWA membership is stated here as text. The MIWA / RMI logo is not shown until the current membership wording and any use of the mark are confirmed with the workshop.

What “independent specialist” means

An independent specialist works on one marque — here, Mercedes-Benz — without being a franchised main dealer. In practice that usually means the same focus on the car you own, but at an independent workshop rather than a dealership. For a Mercedes that's out of warranty or off its service plan, it's often a more personal and more affordable route, without giving up marque-specific knowledge. “Independent” is the point — stated plainly, not as a criticism of dealers.
